Amusement in Goa
The state of Goa is full with variety of options for the amusement of tourists. Goa Sanctuaries
Goa, a paradise, nestles between the seas and the lush forested hills. The forest treasures the magnificent wildlife in Goa which is the home to diverse wildlife population, variety of reptiles and a wide range of aerial population.

The rugged western ghats make it an ideal haven for many species of birds and animals and also provide a corridor for migration.

The tropical location of Goa is responsible for its warm humid climate

Goa is endowed with over 1512 documented species of plants, over 275 genera of birds, over 48 genera of animals and over 60 genera of reptiles.

Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary

The Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary
lies in the Chorao Island having an area of 2sq. km. This wildlife sanctuary supports mangrove swamps, which are home for a range of birds. One may also spot flying foxes, jackals, crocodiles, and turtles.

 
Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary

The sanctuary has the sambar,
gaur (Indian bison), wild boar, and elephants amongst others animals. The sanctuary houses a botanical and rose garden, a sprawling deer-park and a zoo, which attract people throughout the year.

 
Bhagvan Mahavir Sanctuary

The Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary
is located in Mollem. It is the largest protected wildlife areas, which contains The Molem National Park. The animals that shelter here include Gaur, Sambar, Leopards, Spotted Deer, Slender Toris, Jungle Cats, Malayan Giant Squirrels, Pythons and Cobras.

 
The Mandovi-Zuari Wildlife Sanctuary

The Mandovi-Zuari Wildlife Sanctuary
has a rich mangrove swamps spreading over a vast area. This wildlife sanctuary is home for about 20 different species of mangroves that include the rare Kandelia candel species. This swamp support a large variety of fish, birds, jackals, snakes, and crocodiles.

 
Crocodile and Dolphine Trips
 

Crocodile Trips
The Cumbarjua canal that links the Zuari and Mandovi rivers has a thick mangrove swamp which is full of crocodiles that are often seen lazing around in the sun. Visitors pass by in their canoes to watch these reptiles bathing in the on the muddy banks of the canal.


Dolphin Trips
In the sea as one ventures away from the coast a brief glance of playful dolphins can be seen. Going for a boat ride on the beaches of Goa is one of the existing adventures.
